Cosmic as a business with a purpose
Cosmic is a business with a purpose, we make profit by providing excellent services and good employment. As a social enterprise, we then re-invest our profits into projects and the community.
Cosmic range of services
Cosmic provide ICT services to many businesses, organisations and individuals, earning income from the sale of services and products such as web, training, technical support and consultancy work. Our portfolio also includes leadership services for other social enterprises and the wider sector.
Cosmic as a Social Enterprise
Great social enterprises know that they have to focus on good business, we believe social enterprise is the business model for the decades ahead. We have a golden opportunity now to take on the conventions of business and at the same time to address the most pressing social, environmental and economic issues.
Julie Harris, Chief Executive at Cosmic writes “We have for many years recognised that our way of doing business is the best there can be. Cosmic continue to provide excellent services whilst at the same time delivering projects to benefit those people in our local communities who need extra support, advice and encouragement to make the most of digital technologies. For the Cosmic team and a growing number of supporters this is a ‘no-brainer’. Social enterprise works and its the way of the future.”
Cosmic’s social purpose, Digital Inclusion
At Cosmic we are committed to digital inclusion, we are keenly aware of the issues, challenges and barriers which people find in their use of ICT – to encourage people to play a more meaningful part of society through using ICT to the best advantage. We’ve done a lot of work over the years to address issues which our rural areas face – for people, businesses and organisations, making sure that they can access the internet, gain good skills and support, and more important helping them to apply this to provide effective improvements in their lives, their businesses and their communities.
